Last (surname): Harkness
First (forename): Scott
Height (S-M-T): Medium
Weight (L-M-H): Light
Shoots/Catches: Left
Position: RD/LD
Nationality: Scottish/American
Preferred Number: 25
Referrer: N/A
Player synopsis: The whole package, Harkness can handle the puck, he’s smart, and he’s got an excellent point shot. He’s a two-way defender who aspires to be a No. 1 D-man in the CHL. He can play PP, PK and even strength. The more ice time, the better because this D-man has lots of energy and doesn't know the meaning of quitting. Has been called an old-school type, a stay-at-home defenseman who doesn’t mind dropping the gloves one bit and rather intimidating. He has good north-south speed and some offensive acumen as well. But his best trait is toughness; he scares people and opponents are wise to stay out of his way. Not a very offensive defender, can handle the puck well and has a very hard wrist shot and his slap shot is decent. But he rather set up his team mates and defend the zone then try to go in for a goal. Beyond loyal to his team and does whatever it takes.
His down sides are that he is light in the weight department and needs to pack on some more which would make his sie more intimidating. Though he is rather quick for his size. Tends to make things wors after one of his team mates gets injuried by trying to protect them and get back at the player who has injuried them which tends to leads to trouble. Sometimes has too much energy and can have a small trouble stay foucsed in game even though he is lots of hockey smarts.
Second year as a defender, was a goalie before this. So he understands and knows how a goalie thinks, acts and plays better than most. Tends to block a lot of shots with his body if he has no other choice. Has a few battle scars from that. Because he was a goalie most of his career, he has quick reaction and reflexes. But sometimes being a goalie for most of his career can have it down sides.
