Player synopsis: A man with soft hands and excellent hockey sense, its no wonder Valberg is creating a buzz as one of the premier draft picks for the center position. He's proven that he's a talented playmaker, and is more than comfortable in the role. Despite his size, he's a quick skater and surprisingly decent at protecting the puck, and if he's in full possession, knocking him off can be a bit of work for the opposing team. A levelheaded and calm player, he's not afraid to take his time and set up for a guaranteed goal as opposed to just shooting off for an unlikely one. This could make him an asset on the PP. He's also solid in his own end, though he would be stronger if he backchecked more often.
He does come with a few issues, however. Most notable is his size- or rather, lack thereof. Being used to the more skill-based style of the European leagues, there's very little physicality in Valberg's game. Another issue is his seeming unwillingness to shoot- a common problem with Swedish players. He prefers to pass and set up rather than take the shot himself, and as a result his shooting techniques are slightly below par, particularly int he strength department.
